This is a unique opportunity to work alongside Chef James Gop, a culinary innovator and sustainability advocate, in creating unforgettable dining experiences.

 

Role Overview:

-Summer Season: Take the lead in menu preparation, event organization, and team management for our distinctive open-fire events.

-Off-Season: Focus on food preservation, client tastings, and managing smaller in-house events.

Heirloom Fire, an acclaimed open-fire events company led by Chef James Gop, is looking for a dedicated and skilled Lead Catering Cook to join our team in the Berkshire Hills of Massachusetts. This is a unique opportunity to be part of a team that is redefining the culinary event experience with a focus on sustainability, education, and innovation.

Our events range from large-scale gatherings to intimate dinners, all crafted with the utmost care and quality.

 

Your Role:

As the Lead Catering Cook, you will be a crucial part of our kitchen operations, working closely with the Sous Chef to ensure all aspects of event preparation are executed flawlessly.

 

Key Responsibilities:

- Collaborate with the Sous Chef to prepare for large-scale catering events.

- Ensure efficient use of excess products post-events.

- Maintain organization and cleanliness in the kitchen.

- Focus on efficient, orderly preparation and packing for events.

- This role is based in our main kitchen and does not require attendance at on-site events.

 

Ideal Candidate:

- Has experience in preparing for large-scale events in an efficient and organized manner.

- Possesses exceptional communication skills.

- Maintains focus and a positive attitude under pressure.

- Is self-driven, organized, and able to work independently.

 

Compensation:

- $25 per hour.

- Tips from events.

O N S I T E  C O O K S 

​

Love the idea of joining the team but cant commit full-time? We are always in need of a good set of hands for the day of events. Our events are on a weekly basis. Generally, events fall on Saturdays but sometimes can be on Fridays or Sundays, or back to back. We send out a full list of events at the beginning of the season with locations so you can plan your summer accordingly. 

 

Some cooking experience preferred but the ability to take direction and pride in your work is essential. 

Fridays, Saturdays or Sundays 

12 hours Shift

Weekly paycheck

JOB REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must have stamina, must be able to stand/walk for several hours at a time

  • Must be able to lift at least 30 lbs.

  • Must have reliable transportation

  • Must be able to take direction 

  • Must love food
