Position Overview
We’re seeking a Front of House Manager to lead our service team during catering events. This person will act as the conduit between our planning team and our on-site event crew, ensuring seamless execution from setup to final course.
You’ll manage up to 20 front-of-house staff, oversee bartenders, servers, and sanitation teams, and collaborate closely with our chefs to maintain the level of service and refinement that defines the Heirloom Fire experience.
This role demands leadership, composure under pressure, and a deep understanding of the flow of events — from guest arrival to the final ember.
Responsibilities

Lead and coordinate all front-of-house operations during events

Act as point of contact between planning team and event crew

Hire, schedule, and train seasonal FOH staff

Manage service flow, timing, and guest experience

Oversee bartenders, servers, and sanitation teams

Maintain high standards of hospitality, cleanliness, and organization

Communicate effectively with kitchen leadership and logistics teams

Support off-season small-format dinners (up to 24 guests) at our Richmond workshop
Qualifications

Prior catering or fine dining management experience preferred

Ability to manage a large team (up to 20 people) with professionalism and efficiency

Strong understanding of service flow, time management, and hospitality standards

Excellent communication and organizational skills

Calm under pressure, solutions-oriented, and detail-focused

Weekend availability May through November (core season); limited off-season events

Reliable transportation and willingness to travel to event sites across New England

Love the idea of joining the team but cant commit full-time? We are always in need of a good set of hands for the day of events. Our events are on a weekly basis. Generally, events fall on Saturdays but sometimes can be on Fridays or Sundays, or back to back. We send out a full list of events at the beginning of the season with locations so you can plan your summer accordingly.
Some cooking experience preferred but the ability to take direction and pride in your work is essential.

Must have stamina, must be able to stand/walk for several hours at a time
